At a glance you might think that Mary is a girlie girl… happily adjusted in the beauty industry, with a love for style and fashion. However, her roots of athletic competition allow her to take any boy to the free throw line for a challenge, up for a good sweat at the gym, and always ready for football season. Health and fitness started at a young age for her… so that is just her normal. She treasures her gal pals and has coined the “Friday Night Dinner Tour” as they try to keep up with Nashville’s ever growing eatery selection. She cherishes her family and her dogs, as her last two babies have been Golden Retriever rescues. Her back yard is her sanctuary and her baby grand is her favorite piece of furniture. Her music roots run deep, so if you are next to her at a stop light… you will probably see her singing. New York born and Nashville raised… she is an equal mix of both.

As a Medical Aesthetician, Mary’s goal has been to help women look and feel better about themselves. From helping someone develop a skincare routine, to treating difficult skin conditions, she has found a true passion for treating the individual and customizing skincare, based on one’s own needs and lifestyle. Every person that comes through the door of her treatment room is there for a reason, so it is her philosophy that every face needs its own prescription, from the treatment schedule, to the home care regimen… no two faces are the same, thus the treatment style should mirror that. From the “instant gratification” of her dermaplaning facial, to the “step by step” skin changes of using laser… the reward is seeing a person gain self confidence, as they notice real changes in their skin. Watching someone go from being embarrassed, or feeling the need to be burdened with a heavy makeup routine, to feeling good about no makeup at all… is a victory. And the biggest win is the way the person leaves after each visit… with a smile and standing a little taller. That is the reward… making someone feel better and more confident, beyond the beautiful skin that they are walking away with.

Someone once told Mary that she has had nine lives… that is almost true. A Vocal Performance Major, turned Private Vocal Coach, turned School Teacher, turned Corporate Sales Professional, turned Aesthetician… and a few things in between, is not the norm. However the variety and contrast has proven to be the key to her inner strength and ability roll with the punches. Having gone from the all too familiar, creative world, that fit her like a glove, into the world of corporate sales, was a contrast, but a need. Going from the world of corporate sales, to her present career as an Aesthetician, proved to be the game changer in her life. But, it didn’t all happen with the flip of a switch. With each change came risk, and with each risk came reward, preempted with it’s own set of growing pains. It seemed as a single woman, the stakes only got higher. Walking away from corporate America, and all of the benefits that came with it, was a true leap of faith. That saying, “Leap, and the net will appear” never hit closer to home. So what kept her going? Two things… faith and her rock, her father. The two strongest forces in her life were always in her ear, saying… “you got this.”

As a speaker Mary will draw from her diversified careers, her life’s hurdles and lessons learned, to encourage women of every age, no matter where they may find themselves in life, it is never unfixable… it is never too late. You can be whatever you want to be, or do whatever you dream, if you want it badly enough and you are willing to put in the hard work… and have a little faith. Because, once you get the ball rolling,  you will surprise yourself at your own strength and your abilities. Sometimes it just takes a little shove, but when you persevere, you just may become unstoppable! Mary will also delve into the importance of taking care of yourself  from the inside out, going beyond skin… the role that health and wellness plays in one’s life overall, and how it is an integral piece of the whole puzzle… and of course, she will talk about the career that is her passion… skincare.
